Every year, around 1,200 tons of textile flooring end up in the waste heap or incinerator after an average of ten years. This means a high environmental impact and loss of valuable materials. The Living Lab Carpet is looking for circular solutions: reuse, repair and eco-design. Together with Leda Devoldere, Cas Moor and Material Mastery, opportunities to give new life to different types of carpets are being researched. With Mass as a statement we make the scale of the problem visible. The scenography — designed by Leda & Cas — is in itself a powerful plea for change.
